A printer comparison – best buy online!

If you are in the market for a printer, this is the place for you! After checking thousands of customer reviews from Amazon, Walmart, and various printer manufacturers, we have narrowed the list of printers down to a handful of the most popular home and office printers. Take a look and see what our list of experts discovered…

HP Officejet Pro 8720 Wireless All-in-One Photo Printer- $194.66HP M9L7

The OfficeJet Pro 8720 was made especially for a busy home office. It can easily function wired or wirelessly, and has a USB host port for scanning or walk up print jobs. The printing speed is pretty impressing, with a 24-page per minute (ppm) for black prints and 20 ppm for colored.

The feed tray holds a half ream of paper (250 sheets) but it can be expanded with a second tray, holding a full ream. Double sided documents are not a problem with the 8720, since you can scan, print, fax or copy with the automatic duplexing mode.

I found many things about the 8720 that I liked… like the speed! Many All-in-One prints trade off quality for speed, but not in this case… The black text was dark and very clear, and the graphics were bold and free of any noticeable streaking.

Another impressive feature was the quality of the photocopies, as they were quite clear and crisp. The single copies were averaging 14 seconds to print, and a 10-page black and white test file took 65 seconds. Not too shabby in my book!

The scanning performance, however, was not quite as impressive. The speed, of course, varies with the scanning resolution, and I found myself waiting a bit longer for the scans. Oh well, sometimes you have to give here to get there.

In my opinion, the OfficeJet Pro 8720 is a great printer for the price, and one of the best deals on the market. It can be found in several places, but Amazon is by far the best printer, but not the cheapest.

HP Envy 4520 Wireless All-in-One Photo Printer – $45.95

Envy 4520On the lighter side, we have the HP Envy 4520 All-in-One Printer. It is priced and designed for home use as a printer, scanner and copier. Welcome features are the 100 sheet feed tray and a built-in duplexer, for two-sided copies.

With a Wi-Fi connection, you can use the 2.2 inch touch screen control to print from an assortment of websites using HP’s print apps, with crossword puzzles, Disney coloring book pages, and a 7-day menu planner being among the most popular selection, according to HP.

Using the Wi-Fi access point, you can easily print form your network from iOS, Android, Windows, Google Chrome, Amazon Kindle, and Blackberry smartphones and tablets.

When compared to other printers n its category, the 4520 does better than the competition for photos, averaging 1 minute for a 4 by 6 print. The basic graphics and photo quality are far better than the competition,

Last but not least is the Instant ink plan. It works something like a cell phone plan does, in that you can print a certain number of pages each month for a fixed price.

Brother MFC-J480DW – Wireless Inkjet All-in-One – $79.90

The BrotherBrother 480DW MFC-J480DW performs admirably with a nice mix of features like the ability to fax, load documents and has duplex printing. It is also one of the fastest All-in-One printers that we have seen in this category so far.

The MFC-J480DW copied our black and white page in an admirable 18 seconds, which was better than others in its category.

If you are buying a printer mainly for photos, the MFC-J480DW provided
acceptable pictures, with decent clarity and no running.

In all our performance, the Brother MFC-J480DW did well in home offices operating on a budget. With reasonable cost per page, printing speed and faxing ability that is more than adequate.

Canon Office and Business MX922 All-In-One Printer – $69.99

And the final winner is… The Cannon MX922 All-in-One! The MX922 is the best all around All-in-one printer on the market today, and the price can not be beat. It can scan, print, copy and fax, and one of its best features is the automatic duplexing, which saves you time, money, and is good for the environment.MX922

Another great feature is the automatic document feeder, which allows you to place a multi sheet document into the feeder tray, and it automatically scans each page. This is an essential feature if your home office does a lot of faxing.

The MX922 has no problem printing dozens of documents each day You can connect the MX922 wierlessly from a host of devices. Its WiFI enabled, so if you have a wireless router, you can connect you WiFi network and print from anywhere n the house.

The speed of the MX922 is right up there with the best of them. It produces black and white documents at 15 pages per minute and color documents at 10 pages a minute.

Finally, consumers who contacted Cannon service representatives were impressed every time. Not only were they knowledgeable and patient, they knew everything about every Cannon product.
