The Dell – Inspiron 15 5000 2-in-1 User Review

* Disclaimer *

This is not a high-tech review with a bunch of four dollar words that many of us don’t understand anyway.  If that is what you are looking for, you can find those everywhere online.  This is a down to earth review of bare facts and opinions from a guy who wants to let others know what he thinks about his new laptop.  I am a published writer and website owner, and this review is based on the facts as I have found them since purchasing my new laptop.

Recently, one of my sons stepped on my laptop and shattered the screen.  I was pretty upset with him, since all my online affiliation work was done with that computer.  Now I had to go through the grueling task of comparing laptop after laptop, website after website.  So, I went shopping at Amazon and I finally make my choice:

The Dell – Inspiron 15 5000 2-in-1

As soon as I took the computer out of the box, I noticed how thin and sleek it was.  It was much lighter than my old laptop, and the touch screen was thinner as well.  I really like the 15-inch size, because it is convenient and portable while still allowing me ample screen space for working, gaming or watching movies.  One of my favorite features of the 5000 Series is the design emphasis on more screen and less bezel (frame).  This allows your attention to be drawn more to the brilliant display and less to the bulkiness that many laptops bring. I really like the fact that the Inspiron 15 5000 is designed to be impressive.  The dark gray finish of the exterior is matched up with a very smooth matte black interior which offers a very professional, attractive appearance that looks great in any setting.  It’s kind of like a sports car… it just looks cool!

The weight of this laptop is only 4.85 pounds, so it is very easy to move around.  The battery life is about 4 hours of very heavy uses.  I am not sure if that’s good or bad, but it works well for me.

Flexibility at its finest

With its impressive and innovative 360-degree state of the art hinge, the Inspiron 5000 series 2-in-1 makes it easy for you to switch through four different modes.  The tent mode is excellent for reading off recipes in the kitchen (I cook a lot).  If you like to watch movies on the airplane, the standing mode gives ease and stability.  Writing your novel couldn’t be easier in the laptop mode, and the tablet mode makes gaming fun and easy.

No matter what your need is, the Inspiron 5000 is there for you.  With it, you have the perfect blend of performance and portability. 40% more viewable aria from its 15.6” display, the Inspiron 15 5000 offers a more desirable picture than its 13.3” competitors. Now there is more room for your spreadsheets, and a better picture for your movies!

Stunning sound and vision

Each Inspiron 5000 comes with Waves MaxxAudio Pro audio and available Intel UHD graphics 620 with shared graphics memory… I am not sure if that’s good or not, but I do know that everything I do looks and sounds excellent!  My son David loves his video games, and ever since I let him play on my Inspiron 15 5000, he has been begging me for one just like it. He said the video and audio were better than on any other computer he has ever used.

The standard backlit keyboard makes it easier to work in dim environments and the Infrared Camera (one of my favorite features) works with ‘Windows Hello’ to log you in with quick and secure facial recognition.  It takes about five seconds to turn on the computer and get logged on.  I have never seen a faster computer.  Way cool!

My bottom line…

I love this computer!  When I start it up, it is online in seconds, and it is so easy to use.  The Bluetooth features and the backlit keyboard make it so easy to do my network affiliation work, and if I need a break, the video and audio quality is very impressive.  If I had to buy another computer right now, it would be the Dell Inspiron 15 5000 2-in-1 all over again.  Yes, in my opinion, it’s that good!

  1. What an awesome review. what I like the most on this computer is its speed. It is true that when you start up, its power up in a minute. One more thing that I look when buying this products is design and I can say that this one have very powerful design and it is definitely worth it. I have one but I will buy one for my little brother.

  2. Thanks thanks for writing this review. I have been considering to buy this laptop for last couple of days. I had few question about this product earlier but now I can make my decision. I am moderate user. I don’t need very high specification in my laptop. It is a good laptop under the budget that can perform smooth.

  3. Thanks for your honest review. When it comes to a laptop, Dell is a creative brand and it always introduces amazing products to the market at a fair price. The Inspiron 15 5000 2-IN-1 model seems to be a flexible and modern choice. I just have a few questions that I couldn’t find in your review.

How long does the battery work when doing normal stuff like web surfing?

    How much does it weight?

    1. Albert, the weight is 4.85 pounds, which I find easy to manage.  The battery lasts me right at four hours, and that is heavy, constant use.  Thanks for your visit!

  4. Oh my goodness…you are so right about being able to read and understand what you’re talking about.  So many technical evaluations out there but you gave it to me in a clear, concise, easy-to ready, engaging format that I so appreciated.  The only thing I didn’t (and it could be because I just missed it) is how much it weighs…which is important when you grab it to go to the kitchen, the office or prop on your lap in bed!  This was a delightful and informative review.  Thank you very much-always been impressed with Dell products as a whole myself.

    All the best!

  5. Ha, I’m in a market to buy a laptop so I’m glad to have come across your article. Thanks for a thorough article. Now, the slick design and the flexibility is something that I really like. But, I was wondering what you take on it for video editing. I know a lot of times, those that are slick with designs aren’t the best with that and I want to make sure I buy a laptop that fits my need.

    1. Hello, Parmi… I am brand new at video editing, but this laptop makes it easy to do.  I like the big touchscreen because it is so easy to move edit the video content.  I think is a good one!  Thanks,
