Now that you have decided to write a book, it’s time to look for a new computer. The problem is computers are very expensive, and not all of us have money to throw away. So, I have compiled a short list of very capable computers, all for less than $600. Lets have a look on some more practicle options.

The most affordable computer on this list is the Acer Chromebook. This computer is packed with many of the things writers are looking for, and it’s ready to go right out of the box! Now it may not be as powerful as many of it’s higher priced competitors, but then again, it doesn’t’t really need to be. With 4GB of RAM and a 1.6GHz processor, it has all the performance you will need. It also have a 14-inch screen, which is perfect for any aspiring writer. The Chromebook has a storage capacity of 32GB, and while that’s not very much, it’s all you need. Everything you do on the Chromebook is stored in the cloud, so you will never have to worry about losing files!
All Chromebooks run on Googles proprietary Google Operating System, which operates just like the Google Chrome browser you already use. With a price under $200, it’s going to be hard to beat the Acer Chromebook. It has everything a writer could ask for, making it one of the best laptop deals when your on a budget!
The Acer Aspire E – Starting at $349.99
If you want to make a good investment, then the Acer Aspire E might be the choice for you. It has an Intel 5i processor and 8GB of RAM, and if that’s not enough, it has a big 15.6 inch high definition screen. One thing that sets the Aspire E about the competition is the 256GB SSD that comes built in. The Aspire E also packs 2GB of dedicated graphics RAM, so if you are planning to edit images, this the computer you want!
The Windows 10 operating system come standard with this computer, but that can be customized to you liking. You will also like the backlit keyboard for when you are up late finishing that novel! This laptop might be a bit more expensive, but I think you will find that it is worth it.
The Dell Inspiron – Starting at $277.00
The Dell Inspiron is another great laptop that can be found for a responsible price, and it is packed with all the great things that a good writer demands. An i5 Intel processor, 8GB of RAM and a 15.6 touchscreen starts it out nicely. It also has a 1TB HDD and Windows 10 operating system. This touchscreen is a lot cheaper than most on the market, a great buy if that’s what you are looking for. The computer also has a wide palm area, which makes it ideal for most writers, and the seven-hour battery life closes the deal. If you are looking for a touchscreen computer that is as reliable as they come, this is your computer!
The HP Pavilion 2-in-1 – Starting at $284.05
The HP 2-in-1 is the best laptop around, especially if you are on a budget. It’s lightweight and touch screen make it easy to grab and go when the mood hit you. While it isn’t a very powerful computer, it’s versatility makes it worth the money. The Pavilion has an Intel Celeron processor and 2GB of Ram.
